Semi-coke property

Semi-coke appearance is black to dark gray, dull, soft, brittle, with open porosity, strength than high temperature coke, apparent density and true density is also lower than high temperature coke. The volatile content of semi-coke varies with the final temperature of retorting, generally 10 ~ 20%. Semi-coke is easy to catch fire and has high reactivity. The reactivity of semi-coke is generally measured by critical air blast volume method. The smaller the measured value, the greater the reactivity. The critical air blast volume of semi-coke is 0.017L/min on average, while that of high temperature coke can reach 0.57 L/min.
